Sealing is Maintenance.

Sealing is a protective coating against water, snow, salt, dirt, oils, ice and oxidizing UV Rays from penetrating your asphalt. Driveways are alive like tectonic plates. Cycles of wet and hot, freezing and thawing moves and damages the asphalt leaving you with cracks. Water, tree roots, and poor base are major factors contributing to cracks in asphalt. It is important to have your driveway sealed before cracks appear or when water is no longer repelling from the surface.

Surface Pro uses a dark black and thick Velvetop asphalt emulsion sealer. Sealcoat fills fine cracks and voids, protecting your driveway from wear, water and sun and restoring the driveways appearance!

Sealing 12-18 months after new installation is recommended.
Don't wait for cracks, they do not disappear! Keep your driveway clear of debris and sprinkler overspray.

Benefits of Sealing

  • Clean Fresh Matte Black finish restoring your home's curb appeal.

  • Waterproofing: Once cured, the sealer coating beads water and doesn't allow water to soak up like a sponge into the asphalt.

  • Fills surface voids and smooths: reduces wear and makes shoveling blowing leaves and sweeping easy.

  • The Dark black color heats up more in winter helping melt snow and ice.

  • A slurry mix with sand and other aggregates helps traction on sloped areas.

  • Locks out oxygen and UV rays warding off bleached out oxidized asphalt.

Preparation & Crack Filling

A Surface Pro will clean all cracks of dirt and vegetation/moss with wire brushes or power sweep to prepare for bonding of crack filler. All oil stains are then burned, cleaned and primed.

We proceed to blow loosened dirt, leaves and all other material and clean it up! The technician uses multiple techniques to fill depending on the depth, width and location of the crack. Options include: hot AC rubber, thick cold applied filler, slurry or replacement asphalt patch. Since your driveway is always expanding and contracting, underlying conditions may cause cracks to reemerge.

How do we apply sealer?

Brushed, not sprayed! We hand apply and pride ourselves on leaving your property, stone borders, aprons, belgium blocks and garage doors how we found them- Clean!

Can we sealcoat cement?

No, but our powerwashing and softwashing unit can make quick work of your dirty cement leaving it bright and clean.

When is a good time to reseal?

Typically 1-2 years.

Every driveway is different and wears accordingly to its environment. Some see the sun all day and others do not. Some stay damp from sprinklers and others have kids using it as a hockey rink.

High traffic and heavily shoveled/plowed driveways may need yearly application. Badly pitted driveways may need two coats for additional protection.

*****Pro Tip: Redirect sprinklers that constantly wet driveway.*****
